All Merrimac residents ages 4 to 14 as of June 1st are encouraged to join.
Children 6 and under must be able to swim half the length of the pool, and 7 and up must be able to swim the full length of the pool independently.
We are excited about the 2010 season, and the fun, friendship and love of
swimming it will bring to all our Merrimac Swimmers. We have a great season
planned for our swimmers. Please find just the basic details below to help you
organize your summer swimming schedule.
2010 Season Fees and registration
Merrimac neighborhood resident $90
Resident outside Merrimac $100
Your fees will cover all practices, meets, a team t-shirt, a team picture,
conference insurance fee and the year end banquet.
All fees are payable at the time of registration
Please bring the registration form and your signed insurance waiver(attached) to registration night at the Merrimac clubhouse:
April 28th (5:30-7:30) Merrimac Residents and veteran swimmers registration
April 28th (7:30-8:30 pm) New to the team registration- because of the popularity of the Merrimac Swimteam we cannot guarantee available space
Practice times
11 and up-7:40-8:30am
9 and 10 – 8:30-9:15am
7 and 8 - 9:15-10:00am
6 and under - 10:00-10:30am
The season
Our season starts June 1st and ends July 8th. We practice every morning in
June. Practices in July are the 1st,5th and 7th. We hold meets on Tuesday
and Thursday evenings in June and July. Schedule to be announced.
What to expect at registration:
1. Sign up your swimmer and pay swimteam fees.
2. Try on and purchase a new team suit- this is optional, but the kids love having a team suit. The suit will again be a green white combo to match past years suits, if by chance your child has not outgrown or worn out their suit.
3. Meet the coaches, we will have as many on hand as possible.
4. Sign up for your volunteer positions. This team cannot function with out the parent volunteers, please take this responsibility seriously.
Volunteer Requirements
All parents are required to volunteer at two swim meets. This requirement is
MANDATORY. If you cannot fulfill your duties you must find a replacement.
